La Ultima Parada mourns the loss of fallen warrior and culture bearer, Rick Moreno, who passed August 25, 2023 after an aggressive bout with cancer. San Jose artist, Rick Moreno was well known for his prolific public art on the East Side. Rick’s many talents encompassed multiple genres: dancer, musician, visual artist, muralist, painter, sculptor and visionary. His art was utilized to transform spaces for many San Jose organizations in their celebrations, from charity fundraisers to festive occasions. His creativity will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, dear Rick.
