Folklórico Herúvi Kalo

Folklorico Herúvi Kalo will be one of the dance groups to join us at La Ultima Parada 2016! They will be performing and they will also be a part of the traditional dance of “La Viejada.”

Folklórico Herúvi Kalo was established in November of 2014 becoming one of the newest groups in San Jose, CA. Now under the direction of Kevin Mendoza, Ruth Castro and Génesis Ibañez, FHK hopes to be a part of creating something new and diverse in the folkloric world. The group currently has 12 members whose ages vary from 15-26 years of age, including its directors. This dynamic group of dancers are a mixture of style, passion, fun and love for the art of dance.

Folklórico Herúvi Kalo’s made their debut performance at the 2015 Danzantes Unidos Festival at the Warnors Center for the Performing Arts, for over 1500 of their peers in folklorico dance. Since then, they’ve had the opportunity to perform for the City of San Jose, Facebook, The Foundation for Hispanic Education, as well as the opportunity to perform alongside the incredible Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano in 2015’s Fiesta Navidena. In September the group opened up their first children’s classes whose ages vary from 6-14 years of age.
